NSW Health: Equality and Mental Wellbeing symposium – Tuesday 16 October

The NSW Health department are holding a symposium on equality and wellbeing. This forum will look at how we can address the systemic issues that undermine mental wellbeing. Presentations will cover innovative approaches to discrimination, housing, employment, social inclusion and more.

Keynote Speakers- Professor Fran Baum Flinders University and Karen Walsh CEO Shelter NSW. Their aims are to:

  1. Raise awareness of the role of inequality on mental health
  2. Debate some current approaches to reducing inequality
  3. Advocate for public policy change towards a more equitable society
  4. Highlight the work of local organisations and grassroots community members tackling inequality
